The Police of Naoda Police Station arrested a person on Thursday night for his involvement in the murder of a Trinamool Congress worker in the Naoda Police Station area of Murshidabad.
The arrested person’s name is Hasanur Sheikh. The accused was produced in Berhampore court on Friday. Incidentally, a dispute broke out between two groups of villagers over plans to build a new road in Rajpur village of Murshidabad’s Naoda block on Thursday.
There were allegations of attacking each other with sticks, bricks and bamboo. A person named Monirul Munshi was seriously injured in the incident. Later, Monirul died at Murshidabad Medical College Hospital.
According to the administration sources, some local residents were planning to build a road for their work convenience along the Suti river in Naoda block. A dispute broke out between two groups of villagers on Thursday over who would bear the cost of road construction and how much money would be paid
It was at that that time that they attacked each other. Meanwhile, the Police said that no firearm was recovered from the arrested Hasanur Sheikh.
