Police recovered 4500 bottles of banned cough syrup from the area adjacent to Baidyabati in Hooghly.

Six people have been arrested in the incident. It is learned that on Sunday night, on receiving information from secret sources, the Intelligence Department of Chandannagar Police conducted a search operation at the house of a person named Ramesh Kosta in Bagher Bagan area of ​​Ward No. 4 of Baidyabati Municipality. Srirampur Police officers were also present. Four and a half thousand bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from there in 17 sacks.

The initial assumption of the Police is that a circle is working behind this cough syrup business. It is known that these syrup were supplied to foreign states from that house.

The man named Ramesh Kosta works at a Jute Mill. After the incident, he said, a neighbor young man kept those sacks with him. In the first week of August, the young man told him that he wanted to keep some sacks at his house as the car was overloaded. Then Ramesh let him keep the sacks. He did not know what was inside the sacks. He found out after the Police came to his home that day.
