Royal Challengers Bangalore’s captain Virat Kohli fined Rs 24 lakhs for slow over rate!

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s captain Virat Kohli fined Rs 24 lakhs for slow over rate!

RCB had to face punishment again after getting a hard win against Rajasthan Royals. The Kohli brigade was punished twice in this current IPL. Du Plessis-Kohli took on  Sanju Samson’s team at Chinnaswamy last Sunday.

In that match, Kohli had to pay a hefty fine for his slow-over rate. Since du Plessis was the impact player in that match, Kohli was the captain. That is why Kohli has been fined Rs 24 lakh for slow over rate.

At the same time, the players who were in the first eleven of RCB in the match of that day have also been fined. 25 percent of the match fee or Rs 6 lakhs whichever is less will be paid by the players in the playing XI.

It has been informed by IPL notification, ‘RCB and Rajasthan Royals met in Bengaluru on April 23. RCB captain Virat Kohli has been fined this huge amount for finishing the over at a slow rate in that match.’

This is the second time RCB has made the same mistake, this time the amount of fine has been increased a little. Rajasthan won the toss and sent RCB to bat first. Maxwell-du Plessis set a target of 190 runs in front of Rajasthan. In reply, Rajasthan were stuck at 182 runs. Kohli’s team went to the match by 7 runs.
