Big shocker for the Lucknow team. Captain Lokesh Rahul has been ruled out of the entire IPL due to a thigh injury. This is according to news agency PTI sources.
Even team pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL due to a shoulder injury. As a result, a double blow to the Lucknow camp.
Rahul got injured while fielding in the match against RCB. Then he came down to bat. Now it is heard that he has been knocked out from the IPL. The board’s sports science and medical teams are monitoring Rahul’s injury.
Incidentally, the World Test Championship final will start at the Oval from June 7. Bumrah, Shreyas have already been dropped due to injuries. Now if Rahul, Unadkat are also knocked out, the problem will increase for Team India.
Board sources said, “Rahul is still with the team. Rahul will leave the camp for Mumbai after the Chennai match on Thursday. Rahul’s injury will be scanned under the supervision of the board’s doctors there. Along with Rahul, the board is also looking at the issue of Unadkat’s injury seriously.”
The board source also said, “In such an injury, there is swelling and pain in that area. So there is no option but to wait at least 48 hours for the scan. In this situation, it would be wise for Rahul not to play IPL. But the decision will be taken by the medical team of the board.”
Although Unadkat’s injury is not so serious. Board sources claim that Unadkat will be fully recovered before the World Test Championship, if not in the IPL.
