This time the vaccine of another organization gets nod for the children in the country. Corbevax, manufactured by Biological E Limited, is licensed for emergency use. The agency said in a statement on Monday.
This vaccine will be given to 12 to 18 year olds. Corbevax is the second vaccine which will be given to children in this country. Earlier, the Center had given clearance to Covaxin of Bharat Biotech.Now this vaccine is being given to 15 to 18 year old boys and girls in the country. When Corbevax comes to the market, young people will also get vaccinated from it. According to the agency, the emergency use has been allowed after examining the interim results of their second and third phase trials.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya wrote on Twitter: “The Central Drug Standards Control Organization has given clearance to administer the Corbevax covid vaccine to 12- to 18-year-olds on an emergency basis.This is the first receptor binding domain protein sub-unit vaccine made in India against Covid-19. This will further strengthen our fight against Covid-19. Two doses of Corbevax can be taken at 28-day intervals. The vaccine is stored at 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. It will be available in vials of 0.5 ml (single dose), 5 ml (10 doses) and 10 ml (20 doses).”
