The 50th Rath Yatra of ISKCON Kolkata ends today

News Desk: The 50th Kolkata Rathayatra organized by ISKCON ended today with divine siblings Sri Sri Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra Devi back at Their Divine abode at Albert Road ISKCON Temple. The whole return journey took around 30 minutes to complete with the convey traveling around 8 km. The ISKCON officials thanked Kolkata Police for ensuring their safe passage throughout the journey.

Officials at the ISKCON House said, “The 9 days Rathayatra festival culminates today. We will also like to seek forgiveness from those devotees who came to ISKCON HOUSE at 22 Gurusaday road and could not get darshan because we had to close our main gate (sometimes) when we apprehended that social distancing will be not possible inside the campus and we are very grateful to them that they fully cooperated and went back. We are also greatfull to those devotees who stayed back at home and took darshan of the Lord via YouTube or Facebook. We pray that soon Corona is gone so that Rathayatra returns next year with all its flavors, charms and most importantly the people. Jai Jagannath !”

ISKCON had been planning its golden jubilee for seven years, which was hampered due to the second wave of Covid-19 in India. Deevotees from more than 150 countries were to participate in the festivities. Both the ‘soja’ and the ‘ulta’ rath processions have been telecasted on the official YouTube a and Facebook page of ISKCON.
