Today Friday, since morning the sky has been overcast. Tomorrow Saturday is Saraswati Puja. On the previous day, untimely rain has started in several districts of South Bengal including Kolkata. Rains have also started in several districts of North Bengal including Malda.
Many agricultural areas in Malda have been inundated due to rains since late night. Gazol of Malda, Old Malda, Ratua, Bamangola have been submerged by rain water.
According to the Meteorological Department, the average rainfall in Malda was 38.6 mm due to the western storm. With stormy winds thers is risk of extensive damage.
As a result of the untimely rain, people are facing trouble to do their daily work. Preparations for Saraswati Pujo have also been disrupted.
