At least 39 people have died after a fire broke out at a migrant center in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, near the US border.

According to international media sources, it is feared that the number of dead in the fire may increase. Many others were injured in this incident.

A fire broke out at the offices of Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM), authorities said. The fire broke out at the INM office after 71 refugees were picked up from the streets of the city.

Authorities have not yet revealed the cause of the fire and the nationalities of the victims. An investigation into how the fire started is ongoing.
