Late Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan’s screen ‘mother’ Sulochana Latkar passes away. Her age was 94 at the time of her death . She acted in films like ‘Sri 420’, ‘Naagin’, ‘Ab Delhi Dur Nahi’, ‘Mr and Mrs’.
She breathed her last at a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday, June 4. It is being reported that she was hospitalized for quite some time. Sulochana’s daughter Kanchan said before her death that the veteran actress’s condition is critical. She was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems and age-related ailments. Health further deteriorated on Saturday. She was put on ventilation. The last rites will be done at Dadar crematorium on Monday.
Her condition also deteriorated last March. At that time she was also admitted to the hospital. She was released after three weeks. At that time Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde promised to bear all the expenses of her treatment. 3 lakh rupees from the Chief Minister’s fund was sent to the hospital for immediate treatment.
Sulochana Latkar acted in a total of 300 films in Hindi and Marathi. In addition to ‘Padma Shri’, she received the prestigious ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’ award from the Government of Maharashtra.
